SPRING 2023 SEASON - COMING SOON
Watch for updates and details regarding SIGNUPS for our 2023 Spring Season
As in the past, all players (new and returning) in our competitive divisions (Farm and above / Not T-Ball) must complete a skills evaluation to help us in team formation. The evaluation sessions are between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm three Saturdays in January (estimate 1 hour for your child's evaluation).
- January 7
- January 14
- January 21
Plan to attend a session one of these dates. Players should bring their Baseball Glove for use during the evaluation.
Fall Fundraisers Offset Cost Increases
Everyone is feeling the pain from the current cost of living increases. CAL is no different and we are faced with the challenge of how to keep registration costs from going up as much as our expenses so we can reduce the impact on our families in the upcoming Spring 2023 season.
We have two fundraising opportunities that will go directly into our general fund to help minimize increases to player registration and fundraising fees for Spring 2023.
#1 Hit-A-Thon: This will be a fun day for the kids to hit baseballs in the name of raising funds!
Go to https://app.99pledges.com/fund/calhitathon2022 and find your favorite Fall 2022 CAL Player's page to donate to or make a donation to the league's general donation page! This fundraiser has the potential to have the greatest impact on keeping player costs down.
⚾️ Top 3 Hitters in each division will get an award.
⚾️ The Top 3 Player Fundraisers Overall will get a cash prize and award ($100 first place, $50 second place, $25 third place).
⚾️ Free Prize Drawings for participating players (one free ticket for hitting, second free ticket for raising at least $50*) - Must be present to win:
-- CBU Baseball Camp (1 Thanksgiving camp and 1 Holiday camp) - $140 value each for Players 6 years and older
-- Luv2Play (1 Hour Session) for Players 4 and 5 years old
*Each player present who raised their minimum goal of $50 through 99Pledges by 6pm Friday, October 28th (or brings cash/check pledges to meet the goal on Saturday, October 29th) gets a second raffle ticket
⚾️ We'll have tacos, popcorn, shaved ice, and more available for purchase!
⚾️ All awards will be announced and given out after everyone hits on Saturday, October 29th. Hitting sessions start at 10:00 am and should be done by Noon, and awards will follow (approx.12:30 to 1:00 pm)
⚾️ Please share the link and make this Hit-A-Thon a success!!!
#2 Folding Fundraiser: COMPLETE!! We were able to raise $3,000 by refolding some mailer inserts for a company. This came with ZERO cost to our families...just the effort and attitude of a servant's heart. Thank you to all of you who helped get the job done in just 4 folding sessions! We also enjoyed developing new friendships during the process!

5 Ways to Support CAL Baseball
Please consider the Christian Athletic League for your charitable giving (whether you're looking for a year end tax deduction or just because you want to help the league beyond regular fundraising). We have recently begun a campaign to raise $15,000 for making improvements to the CAL fields and facilities, including funds to pay for infield clay this month, and a new mower and a new snack bar as soon as possible (more details are included at the bottom of this email). We will be grateful for donations of any size. The Christian Athletic League is a recognized public charity (tax id number 330939080), so your donation is tax deductible.
For your convenience, we offer the following methods for giving to our Field Improvements/"Field Funds" campaign:
No Dogs, Please
Our agreement with Divine Word prohibits dogs on the premises.
Please leave Fido at home!
